AI that adds intelligence to your board
We were in the boardroom long before we built AI. That's why our solutions don't just speed up governance; they raise the bar on what boards can achieve.
Get in touchBuilt to raise the bar, not just the pace
Our AI improves the quality of papers, preparation, and minutes across every stage of the board cycle. Better information in, better decisions out.
Built on {science} , proven in boardrooms
Our AI is rooted in methodologies trusted by top boards and refined over two decades of consulting. The expertise is baked in, not bolted on.
Built for trust , with humans in control
Our AI supports thinking, with built-in checks that ensure consistent, reliable outputs. Zero data retention, full encryption, ISO 27001 audited.
“
Boards make the highest-stakes decisions in any organisation. Those decisions are only as good as the information behind them, and most board information isn’t good enough.
Our AI changes that. It’s designed to surface what’s missing, sharpen thinking, and help the people in the room see further and faster than they could before.”
Pippa Begg, CEO, Board Intelligence
Find your board’s next edge
We’re building the first AI sparring partner for the boardroom. A sounding board, not another chatbot, designed to sharpen the conversation rather than shorten it. It stress-tests papers, finds underrepresented perspectives, and helps decision-makers question assumptions before they turn into actions.
60% of the FTSE 20 financial institutions are already working with our team on custom AI developments. All drawing on the experience we’ve acquired putting AI tools powered by 20 years of boardroom expertise in the hands of thousands of decision-makers.
The boards keenest to gain an edge are already on this journey with us.
Already in the hands of FTSE 100 boards

Turn notes into board-ready papers, with AI that knows what boards need.

Write great minutes in half the time with AI that distils discussions.
-
Generates structured minute drafts from meeting recordings, transcripts, or notes.
-
Captures decisions, actions, and the substance behind them, not just a transcript.
-
Produces board-standard output in a fraction of the time, with style matching to your organisation’s format.
Generic AI tools work well for high-level summaries, but for board and committee meetings, detail is key — and that’s what we get from the AI in Board Intelligence.”

AI you can trust
Board materials are among the most sensitive documents in any organisation. Our architecture is designed around that reality: zero data retention, full encryption, complete segregation between organisations, and ISO 27001 audited controls throughout. Every output goes through multi-stage checks before it reaches you, and once it does, nothing is remembered by the AI.
Want the full technical picture?
Our AI Explainer is a practical guide for governance teams, IT stakeholders, and procurement leads who need the details before recommending us internally.
It covers:
- How we select, test, and deploy AI models, and why we never use your data for model improvement.
- Our three types of AI capability — generative, classification, and agentic.
- Data security architecture — encryption, isolation, segregation, and zero retention.
- Transparency and control — how every AI feature is labelled, explained, and governed by the user.
Most boards score just 10 out of 30 on the Board AI Readiness Radar, an evaluation tool that ranks your board across five pillars. Only 10% score 20 or above.

How is Board Intelligence AI different from ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini?
Generic AI tools are good at compressing information, summarising documents, drafting text, answering broad questions. But they don't understand what boards need. Where generic AI asks, "what's in this document?", ours asks "what should a board be thinking about here?" Our AI is designed around our proven governance methodology developed over 20 years and trusted by 27% of FTSE 100 boards. That's why Report Writer steers authors towards the questions boards need answered, Insight Driver surfaces what's missing rather than just what's there, and Minute Writer captures the substance of a discussion rather than just the words. Research by INSEAD and Wharton found that directors who tried generic AI for board work found the outputs largely irrelevant to what boards need to discuss.
-
Which of your products use AI?
Three products are AI-powered today: Report Writer (AI-assisted report drafting and expert feedback), Insight Driver (AI-powered meeting preparation and gap analysis), and Minute Writer (AI-powered minute drafting from recordings, transcripts, or notes). All AI features are clearly labelled. AI is only enabled when your organisation has agreed to its use, and every AI output is presented as a starting point; your people review, refine, and own the result.
-
How does Board Intelligence handle data security and AI?
Board materials are among the most sensitive documents in any organisation. Our AI architecture is designed for trust on three levels.
- Your data stays yours. Data is held in temporary memory only during processing. Once results are returned, no record is kept, nothing is saved, and nothing is used for model improvement. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, fully isolated at the project level, and segregated between organisations. Our information security management system is ISO 27001 audited.
- The outputs are reliable. We don't send your documents to a single AI model and hope for the best. Our architecture breaks complex tasks into smaller, verifiable steps with checks at key points. We select the best model for each task, craft bespoke prompts informed by our consulting methodology, and have our boardroom consultants review output quality on an ongoing basis.
- You stay in control. AI is only enabled when your organisation has opted in. Every AI feature is clearly marked. Every AI output is labelled as a starting point and requires human review before adoption.
-
Do you use our data to improve your AI models?
No. We never use customer data to develop, refine, or improve our AI. We select pre-trained models, craft bespoke prompts informed by our consulting methodology, and have our boardroom consultants review the quality of outputs. Your data is held in temporary memory only during processing and leaves no trace within the AI.
-
Our board isn't ready for AI. Where should we start?
Your board may not be ready for AI, but AI may already be in your boardroom. Directors are experimenting with generic tools, often uploading confidential materials to unapproved platforms. The question isn't whether AI enters the boardroom, but whether it enters on your terms. We help on both fronts: secure, purpose-built tools that give your governance team a controlled alternative, and development programmes that give your directors the knowledge to oversee AI across the organisation. Our Board AI Readiness Radar is a good first step; it's a free, five-minute assessment that shows where your board stands and where to focus.
-
Can we opt out of AI features?
Yes. AI can be disabled at the organisation level. Much of the value of our products comes from AI-powered features, but we recognise that some organisations need time to work through internal governance around AI adoption. When AI is enabled, every feature is clearly identified and accompanied by training resources. Every AI output is labelled and requires explicit user action to adopt. No AI feature runs silently or makes decisions on your behalf.
-
What makes your AI different from other board portal providers?
We strengthen the full board cycle, not just the last mile. Our AI starts with the thinking that shapes what reaches the board: steering authors towards the right questions, surfacing gaps in the pack, connecting papers to past discussions. No competitor's AI improves the quality of information before it reaches directors. Moreover, our proprietary methodology is the architectural basis of our AI. Competitors' AI is built by software companies; ours is built on governance science.
-
How was your AI built?
We select the best pre-trained models for each task, craft bespoke prompts informed by our consulting methodology, and have our boardroom consultants review the quality of outputs on an ongoing basis. We break complex tasks into smaller steps with checks at key points to ensure predictability and accuracy. The expertise is in the prompt design and the multi-stage architecture — not in training on your data. We've been developing AI tools for board and governance applications since 2021 — well before generative AI entered the mainstream.
